Me__

Hi, I am Xinhan Zhang, born in China and educated in Singapore and New Zealand. I am a fashion designer and creative brand strategist with a rich cross-cultural background. I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts with First Class Honours in Fashion Design from Nottingham Trent University in 2020. In 2025, I completed my Master of Design at Auckland University of Technology (AUT), where my research explored the intersections of weaving (both basketry and textile-based), sculptural practices, materiality, and cultural narratives.

My early career spans both large-scale commercial fashion and independent design studios. I worked as a fashion designer at S.deer, one of the largest fashion companies in Nanjing-China, where I gained experience in mass-market fashion production. In 2022, I joined Xiao Li, a London-founded, Shanghai-based independent designer brand, where I was deeply involved in both fashion design and brand communications, including digital storytelling, influencer collaborations, and new media content strategy on platforms like WeChat and Rednote.

Beyond the fashion world, I co-founded a boutique bar in Nanjing, where I led the brand’s visual storytelling, campaign writing, social media presence, and event planning, bringing cultural experiences to life through narrative and design.

Now based in Auckland, I’m seeking roles where I can contribute not only as a designer, but also as a storyteller, creative thinker, and cross-cultural connector—ideally in fashion, design, textile or  industries that value experimentation, craft, and creative brand-building.
